Tommy Zapp Burson has been in the radio & entertainment industry for over 20 years. Zapp began his career in 1982 as a international hot-mix, freelance discjockey. In 1994, after touring in Europe (while getting ready to leave the Airforce) Zapp decided to attend the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in Atlanta for his complete Radio/TV training. Zapp then moved back to Macon and landed an overnight slow jam position and became the first disc-jockey to spin live for the weekend funky-mix dance party for the former FOXIE 100/98 FM radio station in Macon. After 2 years Zapp then landed his second radio gig at The new WIBB FM in Macon GA. as the first (and first black) mid-day personality. In 1997, Zapp moved to Atlanta and attended Georgia State University where he pursued a degree in mass communication and interned at the on-site radio station WRFG. Soon after Zapp began dj-ing at the popular night spots meeting many radio personalities. A recognized name in the industry "Melissa Summers", became his mentor and spiritual friend. Melissa also helped land him a position at Kiss 104.1FM as a part time personality/hot-mix DJ and production assistant. After being involved with some of the devilish perks that comes with the night life and and the gleam of stardom, Zapp realized that his life was really meaningless and spinning out of control . In 2000, while meeting key personnel in the business and studying the in's and out's of radio, God revealed to Zapp in a dream to come and utilize his many talents, work for him and begin to receive his favor. So, Zapp promised God that the night life was over. After dwelling in prayer, Zapp decided to open his own production business called "Faith Unlimited Productions". In 2002, Zapp landed a Production Director position at Praise 1040, Atlanta's Christian Choice radio station where he quickly moved up to Program Director. After a few years the radio station was sold and the format changed. Zapp decided to open his production business in the Stone Mountain Georgia area under the name "Tommy Zapp Productions". Zapp is now an Audio Producer and Radio Program Director for New Mercies Christian Church in Lilburn Georgia. Zapp is a born again Christian, audio producer, website developer, singer, songwriter, plays drums, piano and continues to strive for excellence in his craft today!
